Christmas Programs

It is that time of year for Christmas programs. That means pajamas for Landon and Kalli for their program. Ryan was still hoping for snow I guess? Yes, he was very warm and so was his Mom and Dad at the program trying to hold him and keep him from terrorizing the people around us!

Here is video of Michone playing the violin in the Jr High Orchestra. They are finishing a song from the Nutcracker - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies (I think?)

Here is Kalli at her program doing a great job if I do say so myself!

Kalli's Day

Kalli turned 8 in November and was baptized in December. We had a lot of family and friends and it was a neat day. Here is Kalli with scriptures that her Grandparents gave her and a journal that Uncle Jacob and Aunt Wendy gave to her.

Later that day we went to the Idaho Falls Temple Visitor's center and looked at several of the Arnold Freiburg Book of Mormon paintings that were on display.

It was great to have Jacob and Wendy and their children up.

Kalli with her new scriptures. Our camera was having some problems so we missed the more important part of the day!

Saturday Morning Basketball

For about 5-6 weeks in November/December, Ashley and Kalli had basketball. It is school league but it helps greatly in developing some basic skills.

Here is Ashley going for a rebound.
Kalli waiting for the inbounds.

Kalli dribbling. Grandpa Baxter was able to help coash a game.

Ice "Dead" Fishing!

Landon and the girls have been sliding and ice skating down on our canal just down from our house. The water is completely frozen down to the rocks and dirt except in a small area down below the waterfall where there is a deeper hole. While sliding around, Landon decided to go exploring and found this frozen sucker fish just below the ice. He was so excited. The sucker fish had a little minnow in his mouth, but it fell out as Landon picked up the fish. I am not quite sure how Landon got this fish out because he wasn't one bit wet. He brought the fish home, sure he had provided dinner for us, and was quite disappointed when I would not cook it for dinner. I offered for Ace to take it home and maybe his dad could take it and get it taxidermied. Landon was not impressed and put the fish in a rabbit cage to protect it until Josh came home to see it. He tried to talk Josh into BBQing for us but Josh gave the same answer as I did. This is a very impressive fish which my chickens will love to eat when the novelty wears off. Landon did have to have a BATH and his gloves, coat, and snowpants all HAD to be WASHED immediately. That fish was approximately 18-20 inches long and the mouth was opened in sucking form, about a 1" diameter circle, so you could put your finger in it. Quite a unique fish I must say. Way to go Landon!

Halloween fun

The girls loved their costumes. Grandma Baxter made Michone's. It was awesome - THANKS DAWNIE!!
Finised product on the Jack-o-lanterns.

Ryan with his pumpkin

One could say that Ashley has a cautious or reserved outlook on life.

Michone is a little more "YEE HAWWWW"

Landon cut his top a little narrow, but we got the yuckies out in the end.

Show Time!!

Here is Michone, Ashley, and Ace (our neighbor) with their sheep at the county fair. We have a great 4H leader who knows how to do well with picking good quality lambs and also how to show them.
Michone with a top prize smile. Michone and Ashley both placed FIRST in their age group for showmanship. The judges then bring the top two or three from each age division and show again. Michone almost got Reserve Grand Champion but walked behind the lamb which knocked her to 3rd place. Great job girls!!

Ashley, Michone, and I getting caught a little off gaurd

Ashley did great in quality. She was one away from reserve grand champion (which means she placed third overall)!

Kalli loves her bunny. This is her second year showing this bunny and she did wonderful.
All done and time to PARTY! Ashley was not sad to see her lamb go as it was often a battle of wills between them during walks!

New School Year, New Outfits

Here are a few pictures of back to school day. Landon catches the 11:30 bus for afternoon kindergarten. The girls catch their bus at 7:45.

How could parents so young have children so old. 7th grade, 4th grade, and 2nd grade.
