Teton Dam Run

For the last few years, the City of Rexburg has sponsored a marathon run. They call it the Dam Marathon in memory of the Teton Dam which failed in June 1976. The run is held close to the anniversary of the Teton dam collapse and they start the marathon at the sight of the old Teton Dam. Anyway, it is a "fun" event to be involved in and over the years Garrity and I have done the marathon and the marathon relay. The different events include the marathon (26.2 miles), the half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K(6.2 miles) a 5K, and a family fun run of 1 mile. Ashley did the 5k (3.1 miles) this year with Tara joining her in support. She did an awesome job! Landon and Ryan (in flip flops) did the family fun run with Grandpa Bingham there for support. They did great also! Garrity came up from her work in Phoenix and her and I both did the half marathon. It was a lot of fun. Thanks so much to Mom and Dad and Garrity for coming and joining in the fun. Here is a picture taken by a co-worker of me right after I crossed the finish line.

Justin - can we schedule you for the 2011 race?

Good job everyone!! So Josh did you place, or did they give medals to everyone who ran. That sounds fun. I'd like to run in a race, although I'd probably die right now. Running around bases is about all I can handle!!

Way to go Bingham family! I am glad to hear that everyone survived and seemed to have a great time...that isn't quite my idea of "fun" but maybe someday I can use that term when I talk about distance running. ;)
